Got a job, a good sign for future comic making?

Yeah, I am a working man, starting next Monday. Hopefully this will actually motivate me to use my time hard, as I will have less of it, meaning I could dedicate one evening a week to the lolz. For you guys. Rather than the current system, where in I have all the time in the world and do nothing with it. I feel like I’ve been on holiday for about 14 months now. And while that’s super sweet in one way, motivation it does not make.

We’ll see. I’ll try not to be such a cock with promises regarding websites that I haven’t made yet, from now on. Though I always say that don’t I?

Fucking plans huh

Ok, so basically, all the huge plans I had are now gonna be downgraded drastically.

I was gonna turn a large site into several medium sized sites, and expand the number of those to around 6, eventually. But now what we’re gonna do around here is scrap all but one of those! So hopefully, this will actually mean it will happen (cause it is not a huge undertaking) and it will be updated more frequently and be of a higher quality.

So what can you expect, loyal reader (I know there is only one of you) and when can you expect it?

The Offices of Baldwin and Smith – coming (tentatively) in February.

Mr. Blue Sky

Listening to ELO is making me pretty happy. Also, had a wonderful picnic of olives, salami, nice cheeses, meal mates, gherkins, feta, sun dried tomato etc etc etc (oh and some nice as grape-tise) with the Shannon. It was super duper awesome.

Also thinking about a new comic project (as if I needed more, sometimes I forget the current ones are still taking ages to get up and going) which is basically a journal comic, sketches mostly, but hopefully still looking quite nice. Kinda like American Elf or Over-Compensating.

Should be funny, so long as life is funny. Or at least interesting. Maybe I will spiral down into depression and it will be all sadness and make people cry. I have always been interested in creating ‘the perfect image’, which I define as an image which makes the viewer spontaneously laugh and cry (simultaneously).

I’ve started on new comics, and am just waiting for some final input from Paul and other people for the total re-launch… The only other thing standing in the way? My RSI. So here is a haiku:

Bad Boys 2

The other night I watched Bad Boys 2. Having never seen Bad Boys 1, I was a little worried that I might not know what was going on, but it seemed that I had missed little. While I will say that Will Smith was excellent, and the action scenes were fantastic – especially recognizing all the guns from Counter Strike (honestly, why use a UMP out of a car, that gun is bad enough as it is) – the story was pretty fucking crazy. As in, too crazy. Anyways, it was enjoyable and I’ll give it 6 stars out of 5.

Yesterday I finished university (for good) at around 4:30pm. This is an awesome thing. At least until I get a job, I will have ample time for website re-building and stuff, which is great. I would have been doing it this morning guys, but Ben came over for some much needed beer and Portal.

Shannon made me a new shirt also – it is magnificent, and you can see cheesy photos of me wearing it at her website.

Site updating… going slowly

Perhaps this was the wrong time to do it – being the university exam season and all. At least it is my last, soon I will be free from education and my mind will be able to rot – finally.

Anyways, for the actual update – two out of 3(or5) of the new sub-sites are done (99% done at least) and the main site has been well designed, and should be done very very soon. I hope to have the whole thing up and running by the end of the month, if not sooner. Then comes the task of getting back into drawing and writing comics on a regular basis. I have formed this list of ‘goals’ for when the re-design is done and drawing is on the menu – just to put things in perspective:

1. Try to update at least one of the sub-sites every week-day.
2. Do not play Counter Strike until some drawing has been done.
3. Never give up.
4. Try not to resort to bad jokes just to keep goal #1 going.
5. Work hard on getting Phase 2 (which will remain mysterious for now) going once Phase 1 is complete.

So yeah, thats me.

Old site/New site

Now, I know the site was pretty new, at least in it’s design… but Therewillbemachines.com can be so much more. So we are taking some time off to develop some ideas and re-tool the site into less of a comic… more of a group of comics and other things.

I feel that we were trying to be too many things at once. And instead, we will be many things next to each other under one banner. That may be hard to understand, but let me tell you the facts:

• Will Smith and Alec Baldwin will be back, in there own place
• The rest of the archives will be back too (probably) , in it’s own place.
• There will be other things that also live in their own places.
• It will be better. And more advanced in technology.
